People Experience Homelessness, They Aren’t Defined By It

The words we use to describe people powerfully affect our attitudes and assumptions about them. As advocates for people with disabilities have learned, labels generate strong emotional reactions that can create barriers to understanding and reinforce stereotypes.

NOW AVAILABLE: FY 2017 CoC Program NOFA

HUD has released its Notice of Funding Availability (NOFA) establishing the funding criteria for the FY 2017 Continuum of Care (CoC) Program. HUD is making available approximately $2 billion in Fiscal Year 2017 for the CoC Program.

SBA disaster loan deadline in Mississippi approaching

The U.S. Small Business Administration is reminding businesses, private nonprofit groups, homeowners and renters in Mississippi of the deadline to submit disaster loan applications for damages caused by tornadoes, wind, rain, lightning and flooding on April 30.
