WASHINGTON - The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) today awarded approximately $2 billion to renew support to thousands of local homeless assistance programs across the nation. HUD's Continuum of Care grants will provide critically needed support to 5,800 local programs on the front lines of serving individuals and families experiencing homelessness.

Five Takeaways from HUD’s 2018 Homeless Count
Homelessness ticked up slightly in 2018. A 0.3 percent increase in HUD’s Point-in-Time (PIT) count was the headline from December’s Annual Homeless Assessment Report (AHAR). However, there were five other important takeaways from the release.
