Homeless Memorial Day – 12.21.2023

Working to End Homelessness in Rural Mississippi. Together.

The Mississippi Balance of State is dedicated to streamlining and strengthening the current delivery system of services through greater collaborative planning, partnership, and program execution.

Through monthly regional meetings with local agencies and organizations, collaborating with state and city officials, and connecting with federal leaders, we are working to educate the public on homelessness.

With funding from state and federal sources, member agencies are tasked with conducting outreach, data collection, housing and case management for individuals and families experiencing or at risk of homelessness.

Ending homelessness means providing housing and helping people to retain housing. We partner with other critical systems to ensure people have all the supports needed to have successful outcomes.

If you are experiencing a housing crisis and need assistance in rural Mississippi, please click one of the buttons below and fill out the adjoining survey. We will refer your request to our network of agencies as eligibility allows.

The challenge–finding and keeping a safe affordable place to live–is real in every part [of the country]: urban, suburban, and rural. It affects everyone.
